Gosh, it’s 2020 already! The years do fly by quickly. I want to use our first FARE Pix Monthly issue to tell our stories about what we did and where we went in 2019. While Festivals of Arkansas Event Photography or FARE Pix was established in 2016, various life circumstances kept getting in the way of publishing any earlier FARE Pix Monthly e-magazine issues. All the dust has settled for the moment, so I’m taking this opportunity to finally get out our first edition.
Our 2019 festival travels started in April with Mountain View for the city’s 57th annual Folk Festival, which is a wonderful folk music festival. It’s my favorite. We typically will attend and photograph the Blooming in the Bay and Blues & BBQ festival held in Fairfield Bay every May but the weather was not going to cooperate. We attended an amazing water sports event called Surf the Bay held every mid-June at the Fairfield Bay Marina. We traveled to Cave City in July for the Cave City Watermelon Festival. Cave City boasts they have the sweetest watermelon in the state, although I think the Hope Watermelon Festival would challenge them for that title. In August, it was back to the Fairfield Bay Marina for the Luau on the Lake event and a return to Mountain View for Mountains, Music and Motorcycles. The motorcycle theme continued in September with a wonderful photo opportunity to photograph some amazing ladies on motorcycles called the Motor Maids, who visit Petit Jean State Park every two years. The year ended for us in October with a return trip to Fairfield Bay for their Oktoberfest. Be sure to check out the Fairfield Bay calendar for more information about all their events. Read more about each event through additional posts we have provided. Also, check out our FARE Pix Gallery page for more photos from each event available in a drop down menu.
