I first met this amazing group of motorcycle riding women in 2015. Again, I was freelancing with the newspaper and this “Motor Maids” assignment came up on a list of photo assignments. I really didn’t know what to think about this assignment. I had never of heard these Motor Maids. What or who are they? It wasn’t until we showed up at their event held at Arkansas’ Petit Jean State Park that we learned more this unique nationwide motorcycle women’s group.
The entire Motor Maids story can be found on their website. Presently, there are over 1,300 members nationwide. The majority of this group of riders was from Arkansas and Louisiana areas, but there were a few from other southern states. They meet up every two years during a Septembers weekend at Arkansas’ Petit Jean State Park to catch up with each other and test their motorcycle skills playing various motorcycle games.
There are many more photos from the Motor Maids games and their camaradurie on the FARE Pix gallery. There are photos that show some personal and funny moments too. I always enjoy working with the ladies every year they are here. I look forward to seeing them again soon.
