Herding dogs for a photo shoot.

Hello, I’m Robin Richards, one of two FARE Pix photographers. That’s me trying to corral two dogs for a photo shoot. They belonged to a friend.

Festivals of Arkansas Event Photography or what we call FARE Pix came about after working as a freelance writer/photojournalist for three years with the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette River Valley & Ozark and Three Rivers special sections. The newspaper’s editor tragic accident ended my time freelancing with them. My photography path diverted into a new entrepreneurial direction combining photojournalism, lifestyle, event, and portrait photography styles and then those spontaneous memories are sold in a timeless format.

I thought why not take what I’ve been doing for three years with the newspaper but do it with a twist. Now, we use our professional photography skills to not only tell stories about all the amazing festivals and special events we attend, but also give families and others attending those events an option to forever keep a spontaneous moment as specialty designed framed art for the home from that special event. Take a moment to review our “Services” page to learn more about what we can do. The “Our Products” page and its sub-menu show a few product samples and our prices.

I also have a little side-hustle freelancing with a central Arkansas magazine called 501 Life Magazine. The magazine highlights many interesting stories and photos within Arkansas’ 501 area code. I mostly take pictures for the magazine in my spare time, but I occasionally author stories for them too.

While I am not a native Arkansan, Arkansas has been my home for over 30 years.  I love Arkansas, all its natural beauty, and the honey dripping southern hospitality that imbibes in each Arkansan. I graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a journalism degree and marketing minor. After graduation, I worked in Little Rock for the corporate and nonprofit worlds in public relations and marketing communications. I practiced and applied my photography skills while working in those professions.

I am a Christian, and I do my best to apply Christian principles in all that I do. Jesus is my CEO and business partner in all my business endeavors and all the other areas of my life.

Me and my husband, Joel, are both avid photographers and work this business together. Keep a lookout for us at Arkansas festivals. We may be wearing t-shirts with the FARE Pix logo on the back or a lanyard of our postcard. If you find us, don’t hesitate to ask us to take a photo of your family having the time of your life. Life is precious. CELEBRATE IT!
